Frontier Psychology (Pty) Ltd is a company that was founded by Judy Bush and Grant Freedman in 2018. The company aims to provide innovative and evidence-based psychological services to individuals, groups and organisations.

Judy F Bush

Director

As a registered Industrial and Organisational Psychologist, Judy has over 25 years work experience with solid practice in various areas of Industrial Psychology within both public and private-sector organisations across different industries. She is also a registered ICR coach and a registered Psycho-legal practitioner.

Judy has the proven ability to identify and assess employee needs and implement strategies to improve employee satisfaction, performance, and productivity. Judy is able to develop strong relationships with employees and clients alike and provide valuable insights to help organisations achieve their goals.

Some of the services that Judy offers include:

Organisational development: Judy helps organisations to design and implement purposeful and goal-directed strategies, policies, structures, systems, and cultures that align with their vision, mission, values, objectives, and stakeholders' needs. She also facilitates change management processes, team building activities, leadership development programmes, performance management systems, including HR strategy development and implementation.

Sociometric research: Judy designs sociometric tools for diagnostic purposes and change management, such as climate, culture, and employee engagement survey instruments, including change readiness and leadership performance assessments. As an assessment specialist, she can offer bespoke psychometric assessments for selection and recruitment, employee and leadership development, identification of high potential employees for succession planning, and assist organisations in drafting and implementing psychometric policies and procedures to ensure ethical and fair practices in line with current legislation and good governance.

Coaching: Judy provides one-on-one or group coaching sessions to individuals who want to improve their self-awareness, self-confidence, communication skills, emotional intelligence, stress management, work-life balance, career planning, or any other aspect of their personal or professional development. She uses specific techniques, skills, tools and assessments to assist clients in areas of their life that require attention, such as career and work, business, relationships, personal growth, limiting self-beliefs, interactions with people, wellbeing, goal setting, and ultimately assisting people to develop into the person that they believe they can be, to do those things that make them happy, and to inspire them to create the life that they ultimately want.

Psycho-legal services: Judy provides expert assessment, analysis and opinion on employability, career progression, likely earnings, and loss of earnings to the courts for cases involving personal injury such as road traffic accidents, or trauma and injury in the workplace which may impact on a persons ability to work or earn a living.

Dr Grant Freedman

Director

Grant Freedman is a seasoned Industrial and Organisational psychologist with over 30 years of experience as a line manager and consultant. He holds a PhD in industrial and organisational psychology and is a recognized expert in leadership, strategy, and individual and organisational performance.

Grant's approach to consulting is grounded in the gestalt stance, a holistic and integrative approach to understanding human behaviour and organisational dynamics. He specializes in working with individuals, teams, and organisations to facilitate "aha" moments that promote creative adaptation, agency, and positive action.

Throughout his career of over 35 years, Grant has worked with a wide range of organisations across different industries, including healthcare, financial services, mining, manufacturing, tertiary education, and technology. His clients have included Fortune 500 companies, small and medium-sized businesses, and non-profit organisations. He has worked in several African countries, including Ghana, Guinea, Mali, Zambia, Tanzania, Botswana, Namibia and South Africa.

Grant works with clients on:

Leadership: Grant facilitates the enhancement of skills and behaviours of individuals and leadership teams, directed at resonant leadership. This includes identifying gaps through assessment and analysis, training and coaching.

Strategy: Grant facilitates processes to guide leaders to develop, clarify, and implement strategic plans. His facilitation style encourages collaboration, creativity, and innovation, directed at helping organisations and teams make informed decisions and take action towards achieving their goals.

Organisational change: Grant works with organisations to manage organisational change, resulting from the imperative to adapt to new environments, improve performance, or seize new opportunities.

Human capability development: .Grant consults extensively on ways to enhance the knowledge, skills, and abilities of individuals to improve their performance and productivity. This is essential for individuals to adapt to changing job requirements, meet organisational goals, and pursue their career aspirations. Human capability development also emphasizes the importance of employee engagement, empowerment, and well-being to create a positive work environment.

Grant is a dynamic and engaging speaker and has presented at numerous conferences and workshops on topics related to leadership, strategy, and organisational performance. He is also a published author, with articles in leading industry journals and books on topics related to his expertise.
